Find Your Fit
How to measure your bangle size at home, with Indian bangle sizes converted to millimetres and inches.
In a hurry
The most common Indian bangle size is 2-6 (60 mm inside). Petite hands usually take 2-4, fuller hands 2-8. If you are gifting and cannot measure, 2-6 is the safe choice.
A bangle is a closed circle, so it is sized to the widest part of the hand it has to pass over, not to the wrist. Two ways to find your size, either one takes a minute.
Method 1 · Measure your hand
Make a beak
Bring your fingers and thumb together tightly, as if slipping your hand through a bangle.
Wrap the widest point
Pass a soft tape, or a strip of paper you then lay against a ruler, around the knuckles at their widest. Keep the hand relaxed but the fingers pressed together.
Read it off
Note the circumference in centimetres and find it in the hand circumference chart below.
Method 2 · Measure a bangle that fits
Lay it on a ruler
Take a bangle you already wear comfortably and place it flat on a ruler.
Measure the inside
Read the distance across the inner edge, not the outer. The outer edge can be one or two sizes larger on a thick bangle.
Read it off
Find that measurement in the inner diameter chart below.

Reading the numbers. Indian bangle sizes are inches written in sixteenths: 2-4 is 2 and 4⁄16 inches (2.25″, 57 mm) across the inside, 2-6 is 2 and 6⁄16 (2.375″, 60 mm), 2-8 is 2 and 8⁄16 (2.5″, 63 mm). Some sellers write them with a dot, 2.4 and 2.6, meaning the same thing.
Still unsure between two sizes? Tell Customer Care your measurement and the piece you have in mind, and we will advise before you order. Remember that our pieces are final sale, so the measurement is worth the minute.
